The Mike Wallace Interview with Ayn Rand
One of the seminal events in my life was reading Atlas Shrugged. To my mind, Objectivism is the only rational modus operandi for the human race.
What is interesting in this 1959 interview is how little Mike Wallace understood — or chose not to understand — of what Ayn Rand was actually saying. Even at this early juncture in the American experiment, the obtuse refusal to recognize what was going wrong already reigned supreme.
Wallace was, in a way, a poster child for the very thing the other side was trying to negate: the original intent our founders had tried to protect against.
