Tax the Rich?
Does anyone understand that, as individuals, we live to a degree in a zero-sum game? If the rich are rich because they own businesses (setting aside inherited wealth), and you tax them, what do you expect to happen?
As a businessman, I'll try to compensate: raise prices, lay people off, or spend less on the new infrastructure that actually makes jobs. There are no other levers. Keeping a company healthy is like a farmer tending crops — you save in good times to make it through the winters. Tax that money away and you get what you pay for. Tax laws that encourage wealth creation are the solution, not the problem.
