Wow, Words of Wisdom, Insight, and Pure Love

A long, generous letter from a friend, shared here in full on the original site. It reflects on one of the greatest human needs — to be heard — and on the impossibility of ranking one person's pain against another's.

The heart of it: until we can hear each other, care about each other, and listen to each other with compassion, we will never get to the solution. The writer ends with a passage about raising two sons of different colors, and a plea that both be given the same grace to grow into men.
